Construction of a latest generation DC electric motors test bench

Researchers José Luis Tejedo and Joaquim M. Veciana have built a low-power electric motor test bench, to be used for educational purposes. This bench is mainly aimed at obtaining the Torque - Angular velocity characteristic curves of three types of direct current motors, with two of them from latest generation:

i) Brushless DC motor with electronic commutation by means of Hall sensors
ii) Brushless DC motor with electronic commutation without Hall sensors
iii) Brushed DC motor.
