Development of an Artificial Lung for Mechanical Ventilator Training

An innovative line of research of our department is working on developing a remotely controlled artificial lung, specifically designed for training in mechanical ventilation. This research, led by Hernán González Rojas and Antonio Sánchez Egea of the UPC in collaboration with the Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, has been funded by the Llavors - Indústria del Coneixement de l'Agaur 2024 and a Public-Private Project of the Ministry. This support will allow progress in creating a pioneering device that will revolutionize pediatric health training, improving the preparation of professionals to face critical situations with the youngest children.
