Enric Perarnau Ollé just started a new PhD position in the MicroTech Lab research group  (microtech.upc.edu) from the Mechanical Engineering department at UPC, together with SEAT S.A to pursue his PhD under the Industrial PhD program. This project is about the 4 megatrends: connectivity, electrification, autonomous driving and shared mobility, among this especially the concepts of carsharing and robotaxis. These new urban mobility services will allow society to move from one place to another without having an own car. To maintain the competitiveness factors, it is necessary to address the requirements of these services from a customer-centric approach and the operator approach. In particular, the goal of his PhD is to take advantage of microfabrication and microtechnology to develop future vehicle design concepts linked to urban mobility services, with the completion of a first prototype to evaluate these services and deduct next generations requirements.
