New publication by members of the DEM in Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines

The study compares the energy loss per cycle of two kinematically equivalent mechanisms.

The journal Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines has published an article by our colleagues Pau Català Calderon, Joaquim M. Veciana Fontanet and Lluïsa Jordi Nebot, from the research group CDEI - DM, entitled "Energy loss comparison between kinematically equivalent mechanisms: Slider-crank and eccentric cam."

The study compares the energy loss per cycle of two kinematically equivalent mechanisms: a slider-crank and an eccentric cam with a translational roller follower. The innovation lies in the energy comparison to identify the best and worst alternatives by analyzing the contribution of their main geometrical parameters.
