Participation in the "ICD3DP" 3D printing congress in Korea

Professor Joaquim Minguella presents a paper and repeats as a member of the Scientific Committee.

The second edition of the International Conference in Design for 3D Printing, co-organized by the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME) and the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) at Nanyang University in Singapore, took place on Jeju Island (Republic of Korea) on October 18-21, 2023.

The aim of the conference is to provide a platform to discuss future trends, challenges, and roles of 3D printing (additive manufacturing) including the aspects of design, materials, manufacturing, remanufacturing, repair, sustainable applications, and application cases, and thus create opportunities to network and collaborate on international projects worldwide.

This year's edition has had 233 participants from 12 different countries, from all over Asia, Europe, and America. A total of 54 oral presentations, 72 posters and 5 invited plenary sessions have been delivered.

Professor Joaquim Minguella Canela, member of the scientific committee of the conference, has presented the paper "Case study on multi-material 3D printing for multiple state sensor units: command joystick set". This contribution is the result of a collaboration between the TECNOFAB research groups and the Biomedical Engineering Research Center of the UPC in the frame of the project POSMOFYA (PID2020-116091RB-I00).

The meeting also served to strengthen ties with Korean universities and research centers with which the UPC has signed framework collaboration agreements, such as the Korean Institute of Machinery and Manufacturing (KIMM).

Selected conference papers may be published in the Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology (Springer).

Professor Joaquim Minguella Canela is a Professor Serra-Húnter (lecturer) of the Generalitat de Catalunya in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and he is specialized in Manufacturing Processes.
