Participation of professors of DEM in the XVI Congreso Iberoamericano de Ingeniería Mecánica (XVI – CIBIM 2025), held in Concepción, Chile
Nov 08, 2024
On October 22, 23 and 24, the XVI Congreso Iberoamericano de Ingeniería Mecánica was held at the Universidad de Concepción (Chile), organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering of that University.
The professors of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Enrique Zayas Figueras and Joan Puig Ortiz presented papers at this conference.
Professors Enrique Zayas Figueras (online speaker) and Irene Buj Corral, together with Roberto Pérez Rodríguez (Universidad de Holguín, Cuba) and Rafael Trinchet Soler (Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Holguín, Cuba) presented a paper in the field of manufacturing entitled “Methodology for obtaining surgical bone models by 3D printing and verification”. This paper corresponds to the results of the CCD project “Transformation of surgical practice in a hospital in Holguín (Cuba) by incorporating additive manufacturing to obtain surgical models (2023-B011)”.
Professor Joan Puig Ortiz attended the conference in person, where he presented two papers prepared with the professors Rosa Pàmies Vilà and Lluïsa Jordi Nebot. The paper entitled “Modification of walking mechanisms using combined rod and cam mechanisms”, presents a methodology that partially modifies the trajectory of the leg of a walking robot. The other presentation, entitled “Augmented reality to improve teaching in mechanical engineering”, presents the results of the teaching improvement and innovation project that the UPC awarded to the authors in the Galàxia Aprenentatge 2023 call.
