Special Issue at Materials journal: "Frontiers Research in Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering"

Our college Rosa Pàmies Vilà is organizing the research topic "Frontiers Research in Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering" in Materials journal.

Materials (ISSN 1996-1944), created in 2008, is a peer-reviewed, open access journal of materials science and engineering published semimonthly online by MDPI. It supports fourteen major topics, including biomaterials, manufacturing processes, advanced nanomaterials, and smart materials.

Biomechanics and rehabilitation engineering are two intertwined fields aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and the elderly. During the last decade, rehabilitation routines have moved from the clinic in the patients' own home where they can be monitored. This has made rehabilitation a field of application of biomechanics that ranges from the design and manufacture of new devices (where it often uses 3D printing techniques, but also bio-inspired actuators, pneumatic muscles or printed tissues) to the use of new biomaterials compatible with people.

All the information of the special issue dedicated to biomechanics in rehabilitation engineering can be found here:

The deadline for manuscript submissions is October 31st, 2021. For any question, please contact our colleague at rosa.pamies@upc.edu
