The BIOMEC Lab participated at the International Congress Duchenne Parent Project España

The objective of this annual meeting is to inform patients, families and researchers on the current therapies and the ones in development targeting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. In this congress researchers also have the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and devices that can facilitate the course of the disease, and to establish synergies with other scientists and clinicians in the field.

The BIOMEC team, represented by the PhD student Alessandra Favata, had the opportunity to present the latest advances of the ArmTracker Project (funded by La Marató de TV3) during the poster session. The ArmTracker Project, in collaboration with Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial, is aimed at developing a wearable device to monitor and assess the functionality of the upper limb in children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
